Somehow it’s been almost a year since we moved back from Serbia, and what a year it has been! We’ve had our share of challenges, but God has been so kind to provide every last thing we need – much through the stunning generosity and kindness of you and others. There aren’t enough “thank yous” in the world for the overwhelming support and love you all have shown us these last 11 months.
Our girls are happily back in school, with so many answered prayers. Annabelle is in the varsity show choir this year, and Anorah and Vienna returned to their rhythms seamlessly. What a gift. Kurt continues his job at CF Webtools with increased responsibility, and probably most surprisingly, I have started a residency program with Lifegate Church!
Coming home, I wasn’t sure what the Lord had in mind for us in terms of ministry here in Omaha. We took a break, moving into a season of receiving and listening, and last May, I felt a nudge to step into something new and unexpected. The CoLab residency has been such a refreshing opportunity to learn, receive mentorship and guidance, and stretch my legs in new ways in Adult Discipleship.
Somehow, this residency also includes a return to the nations! I never expected to join a global outreach team so soon, but I’m practicing my “yes” and trusting the Lord has great things in mind for me, our team, and the people He has called us to reach. So, in January, our CoLab class will be journeying to El Salvador for a week to minister to students and orphans in this hurting and broken part of the world.
It would bless me so greatly if you would be praying for me, my family, and our team as we embrace this new adventure. The fleshy bits of my heart would love to settle into the comforts of “home” here in Nebraska, but it has become apparent to me that the Lord planted the nations in the plans and purposes of our family, and this is yet another expression of His kindness and sovereignty.
Would you be willing to partner with us in prayer for this trip? We leave at the end of January, which is coming up so soon! If you would be willing to be part of my prayer team, please let me know. Your prayers move mountains. I’ve seen it over and over again.
Here is a link to my El Salvador Team’s page with some information about our team and an opportunity to partner financially if you feel led, but even more than that, I covet your prayers.
Thank you so much for your presence in our lives. We love you so much!
